Twilight Festival 4 Miler: Ashburn, VA--June 25, 2006
by Jonathan Morse*

Today’s race report is about the Potomac River Running Twilight Festival 4 Miler. It started out as a rainy evening as we drove to Ashburn, VA to get signed up before the race. While we were waiting to get our numbers, the weather was drizzling, but the ground was soaked from the hours of rain that fell from the sky in Ashburn. After we got our numbers, we went back to the car to avoid getting wet. We got in the car just in time because now it was pouring down rain with thunder and lightning. After about 10 minutes they announced there would be a 15 minute delay. So we waited 15 minutes, and then they announced they were canceling the race and said we could take all the food we wanted. So we ran to the food stand and grabbed two boxes of cookies and a whole pack of Gatorade. The Police didn’t want to get wet, so they let us loot all of the food. At least we got a cool shirt.
